Over the past month the children in Mischief Mountain have been settling into their room. They’ve learnt the names of their peers and teachers and are now settled in for the year ahead. With many children initially upset at drop off it’s great to finally see them happy to arrive!
The children have enjoyed plenty of crafts, educational group times with books or singing, sensory play and of course outdoor play.
With an interest in colours and painting colour week has been a great hit! The children have enjoyed observing all things colourful. We have placed a large focus on the recognition of colours with a colour sorting activity daily. Along with this, books and songs focusing on colour. Mischief Mountain also enjoyed doing a craft and playing with play dough incorporation the colour of the day.
We have observed the children are also very interested in shapes and numbers. We will keep this interest in mind for next month!
